Wallawa Lake, Oregon

I had an amazing week with my family! We went up to Wallawa Lake, Oregon and had a great time hiking, swimming, paddle boating, playing games and eating. It's a fun destination if your looking for a new place to go.

Located on the border of Oregon and Idaho, in Hells Canyon, Wallawa Lake is a great family destination. As a matter of fact there were several family reunions going on while we were there. It really is the perfect spot because there is something to do for every personality. Besides the stuff we did they also have a small arcade, bumper boats, go-carts, basketball, horseback riding, mini golf, shopping, canoes, motor boats and history: Wallawa Lake, and the little town of Joseph, are the home of Chief Joseph and the location of his final resting place - his grave overlooks the lake.

You can rent a cabin, stay in a condo, camp or bring your RV. We rented a cabin that was big enough for all of us - we had 10 in all - but for the bigger reunion there are clusters of cabins as well.

There are some a-maz-ing hikes up there that are easy for kids and some for the more advanced hiker.

If you are ever here, don't miss out on the Cheyenne Cafe, on the South end of Josheph - home of the biggest pancake and the best burger you will ever eat, on a homemade bun! We ended up going here twice it was so amazingly delicious.
