Try Ice Blocking

Every heard of ice blocking? A lot of people haven't. I tried ice blocking for the first time when I was in High School and had a blast. As the summer months heat up, it's the perfect way to cool down and have some fun.

All you need for this activity is a block of ice, a bath towel and a really good sledding hill. Take your block of ice out of it's bag and cover the top of it with your towel to help keep your bum from getting super wet. Sit on top of the ice and use it as a sled to ride down the hill.

Since an ice block is much smaller than a traditional snow sled, it takes a little bit of practice to stay atop of it, but that is half the fun. Once you get the hang of it you can start getting creative with going down the hill - races and trains are some of our favorite things to do.

So, next time you are sitting around hot and bored, go to the grocery store and pick up a couple ice blocks, head to the local sledding hill and have a blast.

Here are a few pictures of our ice blocking adventure from last year.
