Bike Bonding

It's a beautiful, semi-sunny day, here is Seattle Washington. Aaron and I are loading the bikes on the car and getting ready to head out, soak up some rays, work up a sweat and spend some quality time together. Going on a bike ride is a great way to spend the day together as a couple.

It doesn't really matter what you do as long as you do it together. The two things Aaron and I love doing together the most on a sunny day are hiking and biking. Just being outside lifts our spirits and doing it with each other makes it even better.
It doesn't have to be a strenuous 50 miler. Even going out on a local paved trail for a couple of miles is good enough: the point is you are out and you are together. With the extra calories you burn you might even be able ride your bikes to the local ice cream shop and relax with a cone. Mmmmmm, my favorite!

About 8 years ago Aaron and I decided to take this concept a step further and did a bike trip. We had my mom drop us off in Astoria, Oregon and we biked the coast. Every day we did about 10-20 miles (depending on the route and how hard it was) and met mom and the kids at a hotel each night for relaxation and family time. We did this for four days and ended up in Cape Kawanda, Oregon. It was hard, fun, amazing and bonding all in one. I would do it again in a heart beat.

So, get on your bikes and hit the roads or trails and spend an afternoon together seeing what's out there to see.
Oh, and 10 points to Griffindor if you can tell me where our picture was taken - it's very easy if you've been there before ;o). Hint: I've already told you what State it's in.....
