Superbowl Cookies

We get together with friends for the Superbowl every year - they may be different friends from year to year, but we are always partying with someone. I love to make fun foods for this event: I mean, let's face it, half the fun of Superbowl is the commercials and food!

This year I made football sugar cookies.

Take your favorite sugar cookie recipe and make it up. Sugar cookies are my favorite, so if you need a good recipe I have one for you: see my post Sugar Cookies.

To make the football cookie cutter, all I did was take my biscuit cutter and bend it on each end until it formed into a football shape.

You can use pre-made chocolate frosting to make this even easier, but since I don't like chocolate OR pre-made frosting I made my own and colored it brown.

Pipe white frosting for the stitching.... again, they make pre-made frosting tubes so this can be extremely fast and easy to make.

It's just that easy and they were a big hit.

  2. We had a lot of fun too - too bad the game wasn't more exciting, but that's why you watch it with friends, so that you have good company too. To me, that is more of what a superbowl party is about: it's not so much the game as it's good food with great people!
