I had a great Mother's Day yesterday! One of the things on the agenda for the day was The Color Run with the girl. I would highly recommend this activity for all ages and activity levels, especially if you do something like the Color Run, that is designed specifically for fun. It's only three miles, most people are waking, and it's not even times so it doesn't even matter how long it takes you!
I have to admit, as a runner this "race" was quite frustrating for me as there were so many walkers. Since most doing this race are inexperienced with the racing world they weren't staying to the right to leave the left open for people who want to run. SOOO, if you go into this type of race thinking you are going to run - think again. Just relax, have fun and go with the flow.
There were so many kids on this race that it was awesome to see. I love to see kids being active with their parents! And, everyone was dressed up in fun colors and outfits, which makes it even more fun.
So, next Mother's Day, grab the kids and the tennis shoes and hit the road with a fun run.... then you don't have to feel quiet as guilty eating the dessert they cook up for you later.
GETTING READY TO ROCK IT ON THE RUN
All clean, fresh and white, ready to get splattered with colored chalk
Aaron took this picture of us from the bridge that crossed over the start line. Never had a race pic from this perspective before!
Jess out doing her thing!
Photo op with "the kid" afterwards - Jess's puppy Copper. Everyone LOVED him at the race and we couldn't walk more than 20 feet without being stopped by someone wanting to pet him. He's a sweetie!
