Yea! Today is the first day of Spring and I am excited for that. Now, Spring in Seattle is very wet, but at least it is becoming a warmer wet than it has been thus far (and we all know how much I HATE the cold... I certainly complain about it enough ;o)
Here are my big plans for this Spring. I am very excited!
1. Spring is a time of new growth and beginnings and I am going to be embarking on a new beginning for myself. I am going to be taking the courses to become a certified personal trainer and weight management coach. If I were to look at my life and pick the top passion in my life, fitness and nutrition would be it, so it seems fitting. I don't know how rigorous this training is going to be, or how much time it is going to take, but if I miss a post here and there this is why. I will do my best to stay on top of everything, but you know how things go...
2. I am taking my mother to Hawaii. She has talked about this for years. I finally looked at her and said "Mom, you are not getting any younger, what are we waiting for? Let's make this happen!". So, we pulled our resources and I am making one of her life goals come true. That is making me feel very happy and I love to see her getting so excited and giddy about the trip.
3. I am going to give the garden one more, last ditch, effort. When I first started gardening, about 8 years ago, I had tremendous success and enjoyed it immensely. The last two summers have been less then stellar around here, and we have just not had the sun or heat needed to grow much of anything. I am going to plant a little later this year, compost like crazy and see what happens. If it ends up being more work than it's worth it might be my last year, which makes me sad because I truly enjoy it. We'll see what happens.
4. I am going to train and run the San Fransisco 1/2 marathon. I have run one other 1/2 in my lifetime, about three years ago, so this should be fun. Not only do I get the fun challenge of the race, but we get to spend an awesome weekend in San Fran. Aaron has never been there, and I have only been once about 20 years ago. We are both very much looking forward to this and are already making lots of plans. Even though the race itself doesn't take place until the summer, most of the training will be done this Spring.
What are some of the plans all ya alls have for the season of growth and new beginnings? Inspire me with some more great ideas ;o)!!!

I also gave up on my gardne the past few years and I am ready to take it on again. I would love to see some gardening posts from you!
